2013 Scout Jamborall

(Entry By Troop 719 Hisotrian, Corbin Wods)

On September 27-28, we went to the scout jamborall, a mini jamboree sorta thing. We packed and went there on the 27, when we got there, there were tons of people. We eventually found our spot, after what felt like 3 days of walking with the heavy packs on our backs. We set up camp

and then we had dinner, then we played. What we did was we went around and traded cards, they gave us these trading cards and each one had a picture of one of the covers of historical boyscout handbooks. We got the 1965 cards, we each got 15 cards, and we went out to find new camps and cards, to explore the scout jamborall. Marks son, Devin, went out by himself and found almost each card the first night for him and Mark. There were 15 types of cards, some of the rarest ones( the ones that are hard to get from people) were ones we all named " Ghost" and "Blue Face".
There were several activities that any scout could do, like capture the flag, merit badges, and a little duct tape and foam war.  During the night most of the scouts were wrapping up their card collection, and doing merit badges, while Justin and Corbin stayed at the camp and talked. We had sandwiches for dinner, and Mark forgot the mayo, HUGE MISTAKE, so dry sandwiches.

Everyone finally went to bed, the wind howled and howled and howled, it was cold, and the windchill was 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Corbin was the first one out of bed, then Tom, then who ever came out after. We had muffins and bagels for breakfast, then we went to a concert and heard about scouting history. We went and got the Thomas S. Monson award, and partial merit badges. We watched some police officers getting attacked by  Belgium Malinois and telling us about how "good" they were. We eventually drove home, after a quick lunch at burger king, when we got home, we unpacked and went home. It was fun, but were glad its over.
